Position Summary:

The Regional Field Trainer partners with business leaders, regional talent management and Human Resources to identify and drive key areas of learning opportunity in the retail environment. This position works to ensure successful onboarding and continuous education of new and existing store personnel.

The Regional Field Trainer plans, implements, manages and evaluates training programs that support and increase associate productivity and capability as well as organizational effectiveness. This position is responsible for the continuous improvement of training program for regional sales associate (RSA), Sales Managers, Store Managers and various store support functions. This position will identify areas for improved efficiency and productivity and developing, in partnership with instructional designers, updated blended training materials and resources.

The Regional Field Trainer also serves as a subject matter expert (SME), in partnership with store managers and leadership, representing the broader retail operations team, to ensure sales processes align to retail strategy as well as organizational initiatives and growth. As a subject matter expert, this position continuously researches and learns about market trends and competitor’s market placement and then utilizes this knowledge to inform decisions on content and delivery updates. Previous Ashley Leadership experience is required.

What Will You Do?
As a Regional Field Training Manager, you will partner with business leaders, regional talent management and Human Resources to identify and drive key areas of learning opportunity in the retail environment. This position works to ensure successful onboarding and continuous education of new and existing store personnel.
You will implement, manages and evaluate training programs that support and increase associate productivity and capability as well as organizational effectiveness. This position is responsible for the continuous improvement of training program for regional sales associate (RSA), Sales Managers, Store Managers and various store support functions. This position will identify areas for improved efficiency and productivity and developing, in partnership with instructional designers, updated blended training materials and resources.
As a subject matter expert, in partnership with store managers and leadership, you will represent the broader retail operations team, to ensure sales processes align to retail strategy as well as organizational initiatives and growth. You will continuously research and learn about market trends and competitor’s market placement and then utilize this knowledge to inform decisions on content and delivery updates.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the retail training development function by partnering with retail store leaders, regional talent management and training teams to identify and respond to retail associate learning needs across the organization. Conduct needs analysis for skill development classes, cross-training, performance improvement, etc. Partner with other teams and leaders to leverage best practices and drive organizational initiatives.
  • Research, develop and continuously improve training programs and curriculum for new and existing store personnel, in collaboration with business partners, particularly instructional designers.
  • Design and implement training evaluation processes to determine training impact and effectiveness.
  • Champion the marketing specialist and third party training programs to reinforce product knowledge and selling best practices for store personnel.
  • Manage the retail training delivery function. Audit field training to ensure consistency in the delivery of training programs, facilitate train-the-trainer instruction for regional trainers, develop and produce annual timelines/calendars for training implementation and conduct training classes when necessary.
  • Facilitate weekly in-person training sessions rotating between Oregon and Washington.
  • Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
  • Stay abreast of instructional design, development and delivery trends and technologies.
  • Maintain reliable attendance. 
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings, training and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup. 
  • Complete other assignments and special projects as requested. 

What Do You Need?

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design or related field or equivalent work experience, Required
  • 4+ years’ experience in retail sales, training, curriculum development, instructional design, and/or facilitating educational materials, Required
  • Supervisory/Management experience
