The Carrier Sourcing Specialist will support the Brokerage Department in growing our carrier capacity, managing the hire cost, and maximizing long-term profitability. The role’s primary function is to manage the execution of shipments through their carrier relationships. This includes the daily solicitation of their respective carrier base, on-boarding of new carrier partners, building long-term carrier relationships, negotiating pricing agreements with carriers, and managing the execution of shipments to the expectations and requirements of our customers. The Carrier Sourcing Specialist must be able to forecast and capitalize on changing market conditions, build relationships at multiple levels with our partners, and work independently to maximize performance and profitability.


Daily solicitation of new and existing carrier base

Establish and execute a business development plan for onboarding new carriers

Build and develop relationships with multiple levels of contacts within carrier accounts

Identify opportunities for account penetration and develop/implement solutions

Have an in-depth understanding of market trends, seasonality, and their impacts on costs to maximize company profitability

Provide pricing guidance for new customer lanes

Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.

Maintain reliable attendance.

Actively participate in departmental meetings, training, and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup.

Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.

What Do You Need?

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Required

• Two years of dispatch, transportation, and customer service experience, Required

• Knowledge of DOT hours of service regulations
