 The Upholstery Production and Inventory Control Manager will manage the generation and execution of manufacturing plans from development of the Master Schedule through packing of the units in Assembly. This position will drive key materials and inventory management programs. The Production & Inventory Control Manager will lead and implement the search for breakthrough strategies that improve utilization by increasing throughput, inventory turns and reduction of cycle time. Additionally, this position will continuously improve systems, methods, procedures, people and computer systems. This position will oversee and manage the Shop Floor Planning and Production Planning teams.

What Do You Need? 

  • 5+ years experience in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management in a complex fabrication and assembly environment with supply chain management, manufacturing, or master planning-scheduling, Required  

  • 2+ years Supervisory/Management experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Business or related field

  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems

  • Progressive production and inventory control methods and techniques  

  • Previously handled multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints

  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, internet 

What Will You Do?

  • Manages the daily activities of the production planning team and upholstery department.
  • Develop a manufacturing plan for plant operations using a Supply Chain Management Scheduling System.
  • Creates, implements, and tracks Production Planning department activity, measurements, and KPI’s.
  • Review Master Schedule for potential constraints and/or sequencing issues in both fabrication and assembly.
  • Maintain strong attention to material utilization, process flow, cycle time and inventory management. 
  • Control execution of the plan on the shop floor using a Supply Chain Management Scheduling System. 
  • Daily review of capacity planning tools with fabrication and assembly management identifying short-term problems at selected work centers. Review the throughput Load to Capacity Reports with appropriate management to identify and resolve potential long-term constraints. 
  • Manage and oversee the component and assembled component work in process and finished inventories using appropriate systems and support; coordinate physical inventories when required.
  • Work closely with all other functional areas of the company to achieve profit and growth objectives.
