Lead Business System Analyst, New Product Development

What Will You Do?

We are looking for Lead Business System Analyst in the New Product Development area to the Product Engineering team, belonging to the Engineering Systems group of the IT Manufacturing department.

The New Product Development teams work with several different solutions used to design and develop our furniture products, including portfolio analysis, inspiration, creative design, costing, sample build, CGI imagery, documentation, and transition to detail engineering. The Business Teams consists of furniture designers, prototype builders, costing and purchasing engineers. The IT Engineering Systems group consists of several Solution Owners, Business Analysts and Solution Architects working together developing user friendly business solutions.

As a Lead Business System Analyst in New Product Development, you will work as the primary liaison between business partners and technology teams to deliver complex, high profile solutions and COTS PDM / PLM functionality that align with business initiatives. This position plays key roles across many disciplines within the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, documentation, analysis, design, and testing.While mentoring and training fellow team members, this position will continuously assess and improve tools and processes. The Lead Business System Analyst is responsible for aligning project delivery with technology and business strategies related specifically to the New Product Development component of the product lifecycle.

What Do You Need?

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science and/or Engineering required

•3-5 year practical experience required

Job Duties:

•Very good knowledge in CAD modeling and PDM systems. Preferred: SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, PDM Pro or SolidWorks Manage.

•High interest in rendering and visualizing digital products and have experience of other CAD tools or modeling applications i.e 3DStudio Max, SW Composer etc.

•Participate and lead discussions with designers pertaining to process development as it relates to tools used for new product development.

•Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.

•Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.

•Design, implement, and provide technical support of PDM/PLM and other systems that support the Product Development business area following the system Development Lifecycle and industry standard methodologies.

•Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

•Suggest best practices and opportunities for improvement through automation.

•Drive standardization regarding processes related to PLM, PDM and CAD.

•Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.

•Develop user manuals associated with the applications and conduct user training as needed.

•Maintain reference documentation.This documentation includes definition and source of data elements.

•Seek to improve the team’s productivity by assessing existing and developing new processes and procedures in conjunction with industry best practices.

•May coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area’s goals.

•May manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials.

Additional Qualifications:

•Experience with Dassault PDM/PLM products (PDM Pro, Manage, Composer, Enovia, etc) preferred

•Experience with CAD applications such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ProE, Catia. SolidWorks preferred

•Experience with Agile software development discipline and best practices

•PLM/PDM domain experience

•Knowledge and experience with understanding and guiding engineering lifecycle workflow and change management practices and approaches

•Understanding of Bill of Materials management processes

•Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

•Process mapping skills

•Strong attention to detail

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, technical and subject matter experts

•Excellent interpersonal skills

•Meeting facilitation

•Effective time management and organizational skills

•Work independently as well as in a team environment

•Maintain confidentiality

•Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement
