Commodity Manager

What Will You Do?

You will be responsible for daily strategic and tactical direction to procurement specialists. You will take initiative in defining the Global Supply Base and manage the selection and certification of all suppliers that will provide the best landed value to the Ashley Company. You will negotiate and track costs on all components and commodities that are part of the Ashley Company’s global raw material supply chain. You will assist in training procurement specialists and suppliers in the use of all materials management software. You will investigate and resolve problems with supplier quality, delivery, packaging or methods that impact on-time delivery or inventory turns.

What Do You Need?

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Packaging, or equivalent field, Required

  • 5 years of purchasing level experience in a manufacturing setting, Required

  • APICS or ISM Certification is preferred!

  • Effective leadership and ability to coach and mentor a team

  • Strong negotiating and sourcing skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Perform well in a fast-paced work environment
