The Supply Optimization Lead plays a vital role in shaping the future state of the global supply strategy through the development and execution of ongoing supply chain network optimization and process improvements, resulting in a fast-paced, lean supply chain. This position requires a keen interest in global supply chain operations, manufacturing processes, supply chain optimization, risk mitigation, and collaboration across Ashley’s organizations and external supply partners. This individual will interact with key stakeholders across all levels and departments of the organization, thus requiring the ability to perform hands on operational tasks as well as effectively communicate long-term strategic solutions. The Supply Optimization Lead will be a champion of promoting a Customer-Centric mindset with the supporting proficiencies to continue improving Ashley’s service to them. These will include the utilization of Kaizen behaviors to create an environment in which employees are compelled, committed and empowered to take ownership of their personal development and technical responsibilities to maintain Ashley’s competitive advantage in the marketplace. This position is highly accountable for operating and driving results independently, utilizing profound supply chain knowledge to challenge standard procedures; this ability to identify and execute upon optimization opportunities is imperative to meeting goals and objectives aligned with Ashley’s future growth rate .

Responsibilities 

  • Identifies key opportunities to use and improve processes affecting the supply chain operation, including; defining appropriate metrics, and leading process improvements and system initiatives
  • Develops, executes and implements projects and process improvements in the supply chain organization to drive continuous improvement to current excellence standards across the organization.
  • Apply out of the box thinking, problem-solving abilities and operational procurement experience to derive solutions to complex supply chain challenges.
  • Analyze abstract problems, identify root causes, develop solutions to problems and be able to present relevant information to a non-technical audience.
  • Design, improve and implement new processes in alignment with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Act as the liaison for various internal supply chain automation and process optimization initiatives driven by team’s outside of the Supply Chain.
  • Identify further internal process improvement areas and compliance risks. As project lead, document project approach, timelines, milestones and deliverables and present to project steering committee.
  • Develop compelling business cases for projects/programs based on robust analytics, (i.e. what-if scenario analysis, cost/time/resource analysis).
  • Develop, manages, and tracks project plans. Provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Communicate project results and requirements to executive level stakeholders to obtain buy-in. Independently handle multiple projects at a time meeting objectives and deadlines.
  • Initiate, build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers and team members, especially those that may impact the Supply Chain function and effectiveness.
  • Assist Supply Chain Planning team members and managers with questions or problems regarding the department’s systems or process flows. Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with IT and other departments as needed to work toward timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with department managers to discuss new projects and system changes. Identify areas of improvement; address concerns and issues as they arise; and contribute to the planning of short and long-term business objectives. Work together to ensure all department activities are coordinated as an integrated whole.
  • Collaborate with external trading partners and third-party vendors to identify areas of improvement and develop solutions for system enhancements; support users through their system transitions and beyond if needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Finance, or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in Supply Chain Operations, Analytics, Buying, Planning and/or Inventory Systems or related field, Required
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g. SQL, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience producing, interpreting, and communicating forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses
  • Experience with ERP system, Power BI, or other planning tools required
  • Experience with SQL, SAP, Tableau, or Python is a plus
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills are a must
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and influence at all organizational levels
  • Highly analytical and detail-minded
